When I first started writing tech ads, I was sort of a geek. I was a creative so I used Macs, but my first technology accounts were UNIX-based software companies. For some reason, I was able to take extremely complex ideas and reduce them down to the simplest means to communicate. Which is why I not only write great headlines and concise body copy, I can also write and tweak CSS3 and HTML5. Probably not a great thing to share on account of how agencies tend to take advantage of their people. Okay, not like every ad agency in the country...
Because we were usually introducing a new technology, hardware, software, or service, our job was to communicate information in a memorable manner.

“People don't read ads. They read what interests them and sometimes that's an ad.” – Howard Gossage
